Bike Storage

It is so important to keep your bike safe, I’ve lost two to thieves in the last few months.

Our Street got an upgrade last year which works pretty well, if you have a really good lock. But my vote is for this version which is surely the ultimate in bike security.

The Alto

I watched the Triumph of the Nerds documentary this weekend, and spotted something impressive in the “inspiration” section. The Xerox Parc Alto. I’d heard about Apple’s GUI “inspiration” before, but hadn’t really seen any examples of the Alto’s interface.

According to some crackpots, the Large Hadron Collider, soon to be activated at Cern may wipe us all out with a black hole or two. But we may just scrape through, in 1974 Stephen Hawking said if conjured up they would rapidly evaporate in a poof of radiation and elementary particles, and thus pose no threat. Thanks Stephen.
